Description

Maison CF Editions and JR renew their collaboration with the publication of the first volume in a new series dedicated to the artist’s work in cities around the world. Designed by Studio Agnès Dahan, the collection will be published at rate of one to three volumes per year.

Timed to coincide with JR’s latest Paris project—on the façade of the Opéra Garnier in the fall of 2023—this inaugural volume showcases the artist’s monumental and participatory works created in the French capital since 2009. This large-format book gives pride of place to imagery and features a unique text by Daniel Pennac, offering his personal perspective.

The edition brings together JR’s major architectural collage projects in Paris, presented in a beautifully designed book. These photographic installations engage with the city’s iconic monuments, from the illusionary disappearance and simulated excavation of the Louvre Pyramid, to the transformation of the façades of the Panthéon and the Opéra Garnier, the banks of Île Saint-Louis, and the Eiffel Tower. Each of these urban interventions reflects a direct collaboration with the public—both as co-authors and as spectators.
